Grand Prairie Association of Wrestling

Grand Prairie Association of Wrestling (GPAW) was founded in February 2005 by a group of former wrestlers and long time wrestling fans that love the sport. We are a non-profit amateur wrestling association of caring, enthusiastic, qualified volunteer coaches and support staff that participate in the local community to promote the sport of amateur wrestling throughout the DFW area.

	To be the best amateur wrestling association in DFW metroplex
	To provide the best coaching staff and resources for our wrestlers
	Create a supportive environment where wrestlers can develop into champions

Mission Statement:

The Grand Prairie Association of Wrestling strives to deepen each athlete’s commitment to wrestling by demonstrating the essential values of competitiveness, good sportsmanship, responsibility and respect. GPAW’s objective is to advance the sport of amateur wrestling in Grand Prairie, the DFW metroplex, and the state of Texas, by delivering guidance, instruction, and intense training to wrestlers so that they have the opportunity to achieve their goals. These goals are best accomplished by:
 

	Providing the necessary support and equipment to sustain the sport of amateur wrestling in Grand Prairie and the surrounding communities
	Securing qualified coaching staff that will provide solid instruction and development of wrestling techniques
	Creating a positive atmosphere where participants can develop into quality wrestlers and athletes
	Establishing programs that develop the athlete to include physical, mental, and character development
